Equipment Info

Alexia shares the shiny good looks and many professional features with her bigger sisters Anita and Andreja, but they come wrapped in a smaller, single boiler package. The E61 grouphead, Ulka 52-watt vibratory pump and optional Watlow PID controller lift the Quick Mill Alexia into the realm of prosumer excellence.

AFFORDABLE ELEGANCE AND EXCELLENCE

Alexia’s individually crafted stainless steel body, rounded edges and impressive E61 commercial group head ensure that this is one machine that will look great on your counter or coffee bar – but there’s a lot more to Quick Mill’s Alexia than just good looks. The American distributor worked hand-in-hand with the Italian manufacturer to modify an existing Quick Mill model into a functional and extremely reliable machine that’s also absolutely gorgeous.

DREAM MACHINE FOR ESPRESSO LOVERS

Alexia was designed to be a dream machine for espresso lovers and those who love to tinker with their machines. The single-boiler espresso machine is built with knockouts ready to install a single or double PID controller (an available optional upgrade). The top has a hinged cover to provide access to the water tank without removing the cups and cup tray from the cup warmer. For those who like to tinker with the pump pressure, the Alexia offers easy access to the expansion valve, which can be adjusted with nothing but a flathead screwdriver. The three-way on-off switch protects the boiler from overheating by allowing you to turn on power to the machine to fill the boiler without engaging the heating element.

SMALL THINGS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

Quick Mill has included a number of little things that add up to an espresso machine that eliminates many of the little annoyances and frustrations espresso machine owners report. The pull-out drip tray is huge – it holds up to 46 ounces – so you don’t have to run back and forth to the sink to empty it several times a day. It’s topped with a stainless steel grate that doesn’t collect water at or splash at all. The water tank and boiler are also large in comparison to other machines in the price range – 3 liters and .7 liters respectively. The steam wand is fully articulated rather than just swinging from side to side, and doubles as a hot water dispenser.

<br>This is the top of the line single boiler dual use espresso machine here - with this unit you can make quality espresso thanks to commercial grade internals and the famous E-61 group head but it can not steam and pull a shot at the same time - if straight espresso shots are your style (too) then this is a near perfect fit for your espresso making needs!

The Quick Mill Alexia is a fantastic machine for individuals that primarily drink espressos or americanos. If you’re into milk drinks or entertain frequently a heat exchanger or a double boiler machine will server you better. I bought the Quick Mill Alexia as an upgrade from a Rancilio Silvia. In hindsight I probably should have skipped the Silvia and started out with the Alexia. This machine is a big step forward from the Silvia, and the price different of a about $500 is modest. At least with the Alexia you’ve got a machine that you can be happy with for years.

I've had this machine for a couple of weeks now and am very happy with it. I have the Watlow dual PID installed. I pretty much only drink straight shots and americanos for which it performs excellent. As an espresso only drinker I couldn't ask for more with the PID and e61 grouphead. The machine has a relatively small footprint and looks gorgeous. I have it on a timer so it warms up 45 minutes to an hour before I pull a shot. I don't think there is another machine out there that can pull a better shot without spending thousands more.
